Botanical name: Glycine Max
Soya Beans are an unevenly round, soft mustard coloured seed. Although a legume, it is classed as an oil seed and not a pulse by the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation. High in protein and used as a vegetarian and a lactose alternative for many foods, Soya has transcended it's Asian origin to become the most widely cultivated legume across the glove.
Nutritional Value: Very low in Cholesterol. It is good source of Dietary Fiber, Protein, Vitamin C, Thiamin, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Potassium and Manganese.
Germination: 2 to 6 days to sprout but they don't always have a high germination rate.
